Today we woke up, ate breakfast, then got ready to go to Lugang. The drive to Lugang was very long. When we got there, we saw a arch made with benches. Then we went to a day market and got peanut shavings and ice cream wrapped in a sweet tortilla. We then had lunch, which was an oyster dish with vegetables, egg, sweet sauce, and soy sauce. After lunch, we went to a temple and walked around. Then we went to a dragon whisker vendor and saw the guy make them from malted sugar by stretching them until there were many fine hairs. We arrived at a quail egg vendor and got some. They were pretty good. Then we walked in a winding alleyway. At the end, we found a place selling shaved ice. We got a mango shaved ice with star shaped marshmallows on top. Then we went to a windier longer alleyway. The alleyway is very windy so that intruders would get lost if they tried to escape. On our way back to the car we found a shop that sold traditional Chinese cloth shoes and my parents decided to get a pair for me. I decided on a blue pair with blue and purple flowers. Then we walked back to the parking lot and started driving. We passed the Taichung Metropolitan Park. Since it was getting dark, we decided to go another day. Then we drove the rest of the way to our house.

Cute cloth shoes! What do quail eggs taste like? How does your mom prepare them/
ReplyDeleteMy mom doesn't prepare the quail eggs, they're just fried at the place and we eat them there. They have a chewy texture on the outside and a salty taste in the inside.
